Notre Dame's Riley Leonard accepts invitation to the Senior Bowl

Notre Dame Quarterback Riley Leonard will join the top senior college football players in the country in the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl.

 Leonard has accepted an invitation to play in the game, which is considered a prestigious college football all-star game, according to a written statement from the Senior Bowl. 

The game, in its 75th year, will be played on Feb. 1, 2025, at the University of South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will air on NFL Network. 

This season's Senior Bowl will be part of Bowl Season's more than 40 post-season college football games. 

“We are proud to welcome the Reese’s Senior Bowl to Bowl Season’s lineup of post-season college football games,” Nick Carparelli, executive director of Bowl Season, said in a written statement. “This prestigious all-star game is an exciting addition to our annual celebration of college football.” 

Leonard and the fourth-ranked Fighting Irish (11-1) will play in the College Football Playoff later this month. He has been a key part of Notre Dame's offense in 2024. He finished the regular season with 2,092 passing yards, 16 touchdown passes and five interceptions. He also has rushed for 721 yards and 14 touchdowns on 124 carries. 

Throughout his collegiate career, which includes the three years he played at Duke, he has 40 total passing touchdowns, 6,542 passing yards, 15 interceptions, 33 rushing touchdowns, and 1,945 rushing yards.
